Community Involvement:
I am involved in several organizations including the Buffalo Niagara YMCA and the Sportsman’s Americana Music Foundation (which funds music programs for underserved children in the Buffalo area).
Special Interests/ Hobbies:
My husband and I enjoy the outdoors here and across the border; we are the first ones in Lake Erie in May and the last ones out of the water in October(no wet suits!). I run daily and I have completed several marathons. I have learned new building trades over the years with my husband and we have almost completed the full renovation of our 90-year-old house and our 100-year-old cottage in Canada (while also learning new swear words and hanging drywall with a broken finger). I also like to grow tons of tomatoes, peppers, and beans in my large (for Kenmore)backyard and eat the fruits of my labor(that my husband cooks up).
And life would not be complete without my menagerie of cats; Lucy, Stumpy, and Draco (passed 2019) and Luigi who spends more time with us than at his house. Our kids, in their 30’s, are out of the house now, but there is always stuff to do and we are now busy with both sets of elderly parents. We also like to hear live bands, as long as they play early(before 9pm!).

Why Did You Choose Pediatrics?:
I am grateful for the opportunity to be a major part in the growth and development of children and their caregivers. There is never a dull moment in a given day. It is rewarding to see children get and stay well and even mark the smallest milestones in children who have special needs. I feel that I learn alot from my patients. I also feel that kids are more likely to follow directions and want to get better and stronger and try new things (than adults). I could not imagine doing anything else,( other than teaching).
