Special Interests/ Hobbies:
I have 3 children, and like most parents, I have been very involved in their activities. My husband and I have enjoyed Marching Band, Softball- with both of us coaching at one time or another, Field Hockey and Boy Scouts. Now that they are growing up and moving out, my husband and I are starting to have our own interests. We recently rescued another puppy and she is keeping us very busy. That might be something we get more involved in as we see the hard work these people put into their agencies. Dogs are such a stress reliever for me. I would like to be able to share that with more people. I enjoy being outdoors and love swimming in the summer. I spend most of my summer, when not working, in my pool. I will be traveling to Washington DC frequently to visit my oldest daughter and Rochester visiting my son. We do not know where our youngest will end up yet.

Why Did You Choose Pediatrics?:
As a medical student when we were all choosing a specialty one of our professors said “Have lunch with doctors in that specialty and see if you can see yourself being with these people every day. That is a good indication of what specialty you belong in.” -or something like that. I could definitely see myself as a pediatrician. I am proud to be a pediatrician. I think, as a group, we have one goal in mind and that is to help our young people grow up to be healthy, successful adults. Every day is not always exciting, but I love my family. I love the bond that we have and getting to see these beautiful children become young adults. I love my partners and colleagues. We work hard, but still, find time to laugh. I chose the right specialty for sure. Even when life or work is stressful, I can still say I love what I do!
